I was tagged by Aiza and though I usually only enjoy memes when I’m the one doing the tagging, I figured that I’d play along in the interest of Video Game Channel camaraderie.
Feel free to play along in the comments section.

TSL 0.9
There’s honestly not a lot to say about this release. It isn’t very polished and the new features aren’t really useful yet - I’m posting mostly to let people know I’m still alive and at least some of the flaws exposed in 0.8 have been fixed.
Warlocks Mountain 0.3.2
As it would happen I was looking at my old source files and came across an old binary for WM. I was stunned that this was a previously unreleased version with a few new features that I had forgotten about.
MageGuild v0.6
Hey, all. Another small step for MageGuild: v0.6.
Zomband 7DRL Merge
I have spent some extra time combining the classic Zomband with the 7DRL expansion, creating one mostly-polished game.

MTV’s Multiplayer blog had the chance to talk to Takanori Ishikawa, developer of Sega and Platinum Games’ upcoming Wii game MadWorld. Ishikawa reveals some interesting tidbits of the process at Platinum Games and the reasons and influences for the heavily stylized visuals of MadWorld.
“The Wii is the ideal console to express white and black graphics,” he told [Stephen Totilo] during the announcement of the partnership between publisher Sega and the Platinum Games studio where Ishikawa, formerly of Capcom, now works. “For consoles like the 360 and PlayStation 3 the level of high-quality graphics is so extreme. I wanted things to be simpler than that.” He said he had been told that he needed to make a Wii game. “We thought about ‘What can we do that’s new on the Wii?’ And we came out the white and black graphics.”
Since its debut last week, “Madworld” has drawn comparisons to “Sin City,” the famous graphic novel that was also rendered primarily in black-and-white. Ishikawa says the comic was just one inspiration for the game. “‘Sin City’ is really what graphic novels and American comics represent,” he said. “So, yes, ‘Sin City’ was one of the graphic novels we looked at. But the direction ‘Sin City’ goes and ‘Madworld’ goes are completely different.”
The article also goes into the graphic violence featured so heavily in the game, as well as what to expect to hear in the soundtrack. Definitely worth the read for all interested parties!

Infinite Line is one of the four games to be developed by Platinum Games. This one will be heading towards the Nintendo DS. Little is known about this game, but by some of the screenshots it seems that it will have you upgrading your ship a lot. Weirdly enough, it doesn’t appear very “artistic” like the team’s past games. I think it sorta looks generic, but it’s hard to tell with only three screenshots.
So we already know Sega is happy with the deal, but how do you feel? Do you think Infinite Line can be a big success? Are you looking forward to it?
I’m more interested in Mad World.

It’s a good thing that Nintendo has some deep pockets because they’ve been forced to dig in and withdraw $21 million in patent infringement fines. The small East Texas gaming company, Anascape Ltd, filed a lawsuit against Nintendo of America back in 2006 claiming that Nintendo had infringed on their motion sensing patent. The federal jury recently ruled in their favor.
Nintendo isn’t quite ready to show them the money, though, as a spokesperson for the company stated that Nintendo would seek an appeal. The company “expects” the courts to lower the award by a significant amount.
Microsoft was also sued by Anascape, but chose to settle out of court.

Is Steven Spielberg, arguably one of the best directors of our time, a Monkey Island fan? My magic 8 ball has always told me yes every single time I have asked it, but who can trust a magic 8 ball? The magic 8 ball has also said I would be a billionaire and look at me now. I have to sell monkey parts on the black market just to get by.
But this time, the old magic 8 ball is actually right if this interview that Ron Gilber over at Grumpy Gamer found. Not only is he a fan of Monkey Island, but he’s also a fan of Myst and the Mario series of games.
Not bad, I says!
Spielberg loves to play video games! Why? Because it was something he could do with his kids that was a ton of fun and brought them closer. That’s what I tried to tell my mom when I was playing video games all the time, but she still said it would rot my brain out. If only she had played the video games WITH ME, she would’ve seen the truth!
But not only is Spielberg a game fan, he’s also helping to make video games. Check out Spielberg’s creation!
Pretty cool, if you ask me.

Gaming is fun, I truly love it, but I have a daughter, a husband that I love, and want to spend time with them. Then there is a pile of dirty laundry that I should spend time with, and, oh yeah, soon I am going back to work and I will be in a job I must spend time with.

There’s definitely some kind of dinosaur revival going on here! Thanks to MisterX for letting us know that the full version of Raptor 2 is out, except it’s now called Sixty Five Million and One BC. The original Raptor was well-regarded in the Game Maker community for its nice graphics, humorous storyline, and technical achievements. In the game you played a sassy velociraptor sent out to rescue some raptor eggs that were stolen by pterodactyls.
Sixty Five Million and One BC is very similar, but looks and plays even better. Your raptor has more moves now, but retains the same great dino feel that he had in the first game… kind of dexterous and ungainly at the same. This time you’re trying to build a machine to save the planet from an incoming meteor, and the narrative provides plenty of opportunities for tongue-in-cheek jokes, breaking of the fourth wall, and occasional pop culture references.
The game’s not without its flaws, however – there are spots where trying to finesse a big dinosaur can be a pain, especially when there are all manner of little beasties trying to hurt you and knock you off of trees. And the graphics, while better than Raptor’s, are still much too brown/bland-looking for my taste. I would have much preferred a more colorful prehistoric world to romp around in. Ah, well!
The full version of the game is roughly 4 times the size of the demo, and is going for twenty dinosaur eggs ($20).
